In the wake of the devastating tornadoes that struck the St. Louis region last Friday, many of our brothers and sisters have been displaced and desperately need our support. As they strive to rebuild their lives, we must meet them with dignity, compassion and unwavering support.
To do so, Most Reverend Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski is asking each parish of the Archdiocese of St. Louis to hold a special collection at Masses this weekend, Saturday May 24 and Sunday, May 25, to aid those in need. The funds raised will assist individuals and families as they begin the difficult process of recovery and rebuilding.
Envelopes marked “Disaster Relief Offering” are in the pews and can be returned in the containers located in the Church Narthex over the next few weeks or placed in the collection baskets during Mass. Contributions will be forwarded to Catholic Charities in support of the thousands in needs in St. Louis, and address those impacted by the storm damage in March from the tornados in Franklin, Jefferson, Perry and St. Louis counties. Anyone unable to make a contribution during the collection can support our efforts by making an online contribution (give.ccstl.org).
In these dark hours where our neighbors cry out in need, let us also be the hands and feet of Christ, offering them tangible support and hope.
Thank you for your generous contributions and support. READ THE ARCHBISHOP'S LETTER.
