Don't miss Father Joe Kempf's Lenten Presentation
FAMILY: YIKES! ... & ... YAY!
March 24 from 7-8:30PM in the Church
Is there any adventure more exhausting and exciting, frustrating and fulfilling, terrifying and tremendous, heartbreaking and holy (and sometimes hilarious) than parenthood? And it must be added: Impossible to do perfectly? No one has ever HAD perfect parents. No one IS a perfect parent, and many people feel inadequate or alone in their struggles with their parents or with their children. This presentation is for anyone who has ever felt anything like that, or has experienced these 11 topics of discussion:
1. The Parents We Wish We’d Had
2. Motherhood
3. Fatherhood
4. Infant Death
5. Pregnancy & Childbirth
6. Young Ones and the Busy Parent
7. Adolescents
8. Some Challenges of the Virtual World
9. Older Kids
10. Having Older Parents Who Struggle
11. Burying a Family Member
While Father Joe needs no introduction to so many at Assumption, he will always hold a special place for our Parish in his heart. Serving as Assumption Pastor for 15 years, Father Joe, now Pastor at Most Sacred Heart Eureka, is known for his dynamic personality and engaging storytelling, great love of God's people, sense of humor, and is the author of many books.
Reconnect after the presentation to preview and purchase signed copies of his books, including ‘Gospel Values’ children's books. Every cent of profit goes to help feed hungry kids.
Father Joe is the founder & president of 'Gospel Values,' a non-profit company dedicated to proclaiming the beautiful message of Jesus for children of all ages. Fr. Joe is the author of: “Are You Good Enough Yet?”; “No One Cries the Wrong Way”; “Don’t you DARE forgive. Unless...”; and a number of books for children including, “My Sister is Annoying”; “Don’t Drink the Holy Water” and “Sometimes Life Is Just Not Fair”. Fr. Joe brings a love of storytelling, a heart for God’s people, and a desire to help us remember those things that truly matter.
