Coming Up in Assumption Parish and around town...

SVDP Christmas Outreach

Posted on October 09, 2020

Assumption Church - Society of St. Vincent De Paul needs our help this Christmas!

SVDP sponsors a Christmas program for our Neighbors in Need and area homeless clients.  All generous donations serve this effort, combined with our
Advent Giving Tree,
Adopt-A-Family program,
and the seasonal Stock the House-shopping day (12/12/20)

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone.
So, all donations of any kind are GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Our parish giving opportunities & collections are coordinated at church. For those not attending Mass in-person, who want to help, SVDP is standing by to arrange “No Contact” pickups.

Donations can be left in the SVDP bin at church.
SVDP will gladly do what it can to make your giving safe & convenient.

Here’s how we can bring Christ to the world this Christmas:

GIVING TREE

Giving Trees, filled with gift tags, will be available in our worship spaces Nov. 21 – Nov. 29
To accommodate covid concerns, there will also be
a Giving Tree available outdoors.

ADOPT A FAMILY OR SENIOR

Please click here to see the attached participation form for this Christmas program.

STOCK THE HOUSE

Our Neighbors in Need greatly lack the most basic necessities that we may take for granted. When we welcome our neighbors to our Parish Center during Christmas Outreach programs, we encourage them to browse a collection of practical items that may help brighten their dire circumstances. Consider donating:

Stock the House Items - New items (unwrapped)
Family games, Towels, Blankets/comforters
Tool sets/hardware mini-kitsm hand mixers, crockpots
Lamps, pillows, batteries, sheet-sets
Prepaid phones (especially helpful for  our homeless)

There is a tremendous need for tween/teen items

Comfy sleep pants, ear buds/earphones, phone chargers
Power banks, sports balls, lotion sets, gift cards, teen-friendly games

SVDP has wish-lists on Amazon and is registered with Walmart.
Items can be purchased and delivered, or SVDP can arrange
"No contact" pickups, or place items in the SVDP bin at church.

Here are links to the lists – check them twice!
Be on the lookout for these items while you do your own shopping.
