Holy Week happens on the last week of the season of Lent and is the most important week of the year. It begins on Palm Sunday and is a time for prayer and preparation for Easter. Join us!

April 2: Palm Sunday – Mass at 8am, 10am, noon and 5:30pm
Palm Sunday is the final Sunday of Lent, the beginning of Holy Week, and commemorates the triumphant arrival of Christ in Jerusalem, days before he was crucified. During Palm Sunday Mass, palms are distributed to parishioners before they are blessed and the Passion, the gospel passage that describes the suffering and death of Jesus in his last days.

April 6: Holy Thursday – 8am prayer service in the Chapel, followed by Passion Play at 11am & Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7pm in the Church
The Triduum (Latin for “the Great Three Days”) begins on Holy Thursday with the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7pm in the Church. During Mass, we celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and Christ’s example of humility and charity as we reenact Jesus washing the feet of his apostles. Eucharistic Adoration in our Chapel follows the service until midnight.

Earlier in the day, Assumption seventh-grade students perform in the Church the Passion Play according to the Gospel of John. All are welcome to attend!

April 7: Good Friday – 8am prayer service in the Chapel, followed by Life Teen Walk the Way Stations of the Cross at 3pm & Good Friday Service at 7pm in the Church
Remember with us the sacrifice Jesus made as we have the reading of the Passion and the veneration of the cross at this Communion service at 7pm in the Church.

Earlier in the day, experience the Stations of the Cross from the perspective of Jesus through this experiential prayer service put on by our Life Teen Ministry. Sit in the Church and observe or be blindfolded while going through the motions.  

April 8: Easter Vigil – 8am prayer service in the Chapel, followed by Mass begins at 8 pm in the Church
On this holy night, the Church keeps watch, celebrating the resurrection of Christ in the sacraments and awaiting his return in glory. This evening we renew our baptismal promises and celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation with those who have been preparing as we witness their Baptisms, entry into the Church, Confirmations and their First Communions.

April 9: Easter Sunday – Mass at 8am, 10am and noon in the Church, and 8:15am and 10:15am in the Chapel
The season of Easter is the most important of all liturgical times, which Catholics celebrate as the Lord's resurrection from the dead, culminating in his Ascension to the Father and sending of the Holy Spirit upon the Church.
