Daily Lenten Morning and Evening Prayer

This rhythm of prayer which begins with the Office of Readings and concludes with Night Prayer is an invitation to pause in formal prayer every three hours. The vowed religious throughout the world sustain this prayer for the life of the Church; priests and religious promise to pray for you every day in this way. We also invite you to join us whenever you can. It is especially encouraged that we pray together Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer, with the beautiful canticles remembering God’s promise to save us: The Canticle of Zechariah during Morning Prayer (Lk 1:68-79), The Canticle of Mary during Evening Prayer (Lk 1:46-55), and the Canticle of Simeon during Night Prayer (Lk 2:29-32).

During our Lenten Journey Fr. Zac and I invite you to join us for Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer every day. We will gather in the Chapel at 7:30 every weekday for Morning Prayer and again at 6:00 PM for Evening Prayer, up until the Holy Triduum. If you are unable to be with us in Chapel please pause in those moments to join us prayer, perhaps praying the Canticle for that hour to bring full present in your heart God’s great desire to save you.
Please pray and discern with your family how to approach this season of Lent as an op-portunity to walk more closely with the Lord. We encourage, once again, all in the par-ish to pause for a moment of silence at noon every day. And we will be sending notifi-cations through phone and email encouraging families to pray the Memorarae together. Let us respond to the Church’s invitation to pray without ceasing during this Lent.
